Schingasaurus
Schingasaurus lived in the middle of the Triassic period about 245 million years ago. It was a large prehistoric reptile and grew at about 12 feet in length, but was not a dinosaur. Its most prominent feature is the corner of its face, which sprouts from the forehead like triceratops.
Schingasaurus was officially described from several bones found in India in 2017. Schingasaurus was not a dinosaur, but a "basal" arcosaurus morph. This is an early example of a group of reptiles that eventually lead to the evolution of crocodiles, dinosaurs, birds, and their relatives.
Schingasaurus teeth refer to a plant-based or herbivore diet. Its head horns, like many modern horned animals, may have existed only in males and are believed to have used them in combat to impress potential companions.
