A genus of horn dragons inhabiting the North American continent of the Late Cretaceous Campanian of the Mesozoic
Scientific name: Styracosaurus (Spiked Lizard)
A herbivorous dinosaur that is about the size of a horn dragon. The main feature of Styracosaurus is that the collar decoration (spike) on the back of the head cuts in a ruffle shape. A giant horn develops above the nose, but only a small ledge above the eyes. The spikes on the back of the head may have acted to protect the body from predator attacks, but the frill has two large holes and is not tough. In addition, since these ornaments and horns are undeveloped in juveniles, there is an interpretation that they were visual signals for distinguishing species of horned dragons. The tooth of the horned dragon has a structure like a cutting machine, and it seems that the staple food was a very fibrous and hard one, but the specifics are unknown.
