When I dropped into Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, I had no idea how deep the Marvel storyline would pull me. The whole season revolves around Jones and Hope trying to track down Doctor Doom after he stole the powers of Pandora’s Box and disappeared. As a regular player, I found the story quests a refreshing change from the usual loop: instead of a single list, the quests unlock in stages, and a new chapter arrives each week. My first stop was the prison cell door outside The Raft, where Gwenpool was waiting.

Found Quests: Gwenpool’s Side Story

Gwenpool’s quest line is technically one quest split into three matches. I spent three separate matches running errands for her, and each one made me ask: is this really helping find Doctor Doom, or is Gwenpool just bored? Either way, the objectives were straightforward.

  • Match 1: I spoke to Gwenpool through the cell door, and she asked me to eliminate a prison guard to automatically get an ID chip. Once I had it, I returned it to her. No pickup item required, which was a nice touch.

  • Match 2: Gwenpool handed me a flash drive and told me to hack into The Raft’s mainframe. I went around the east side of the prison, entered the bottom of the tower in the northeastern corner, and interacted with the computer. The passphrase was CYNTHIA. After copying the data, I gave the flash drive back.

  • Match 3: This time I had to steal three electronic parts from The Raft. The locations showed up on the map: upper left corner of the prison, bottom left under a broken wall, and directly south inside a broken prison tower. After collecting all three, I returned to Gwenpool one last time.

I still wonder how a locked-up Gwenpool managed to coordinate all of that, but I suppose Fortnite logic rarely needs an explanation.

Part 1 - Are We Doomed?

Once Gwenpool’s errands were done, the main search for Doctor Doom began. Part 1 sent me all over the island hunting for evidence, and honestly, the travel time alone made me wish I had grabbed a vehicle earlier.

Stage What I Did My Tip
1 Dealt 500 damage to opponents at Castle Doom, Doomstadt, or The Raft Use henchmen at those POIs to avoid fighting real players
2 Investigated Redline Rig for evidence The helmet from Doom’s armor sits right next to Pandora’s Box remains
3 Brought Doom’s helmet to Hope Hope was stationed at Sandy Steppes, so grab a car
4 Eliminated three opponents from over 30 meters Hover Jets and Arsenal help a lot
5 Found Doom’s Logs at the memorial statue and Fractured Four One is east of Rebel’s Roost, the other southwest of Doomstadt
6 Collected a control chip by hitting a headshot on Doom’s henchmen Any of the three main POIs works

The stage that made me pause was stage 5. Listening to those recordings really set the mood, and I started to ask myself: what is Doctor Doom actually planning? The story was finally clicking.

Part 2 - Heroes Assemble

In Part 2, Captain Jones and the Oracle sent me to loot Doctor Doom chests and search dig sites. This part felt more combat-heavy, but the objectives were clear.

  • Stage 1: I looted a Doctor Doom Chest. These are long rectangular boxes with a golden glow and the Doom symbol on top. They appear at the new POIs and other spots.

  • Stage 2: I collected a Shipping Manifest by eliminating henchmen at one of the eight dig sites. There are many locations, including north of The Underworld, northeast of Rebel’s Roost, a train station south of Grim Gate, and more. Once the last henchman fell, the manifest dropped.

  • Stage 3: I collected five Epic, Legendary, or Mythic items from eliminated players. They didn’t have to be my eliminations, which made it much less stressful.

  • Stage 4: I reported to War Machine at the train station near Doom’s Courtyard.

  • Stage 5: I dealt 300 damage while hovering with War Machine’s Hover Jets. Those jets can come from rare chests, Doom or Avenger Chests, or fallen players.

  • Stage 6: I eliminated five opponents using War Machine’s Arsenal, a Mythic item found mostly in Doom Chests, Avenger Chests, and Rare Chests.

  • Stage 7: I talked to Captain Jones at the Ship It! Station, northwest of Nitrodome.

The Hover Jets quest was both my favorite and my least favorite. Trying to stay airborne while doing enough damage tested my aim, but the payoff felt great when I finally finished it.

Part 3 - Shuri’s Invention

Shuri arrived to help narrow down Doctor Doom’s location with her Rift Recalibrator. I liked this part because it blended support tasks with an actual boss fight.

  • Stage 1: I completed two SHADOW Briefings. There are three types—Supply Drop, Armory, and Plunder—and I just looked for the laptop icon on the minimap.

  • Stage 2: I held three different Epic or better items at one time. Chests and NPCs made this quick.

  • Stage 3: I delivered the parts to Shuri, who was located east of Nitrodome.

  • Stage 4: I attached Rift Recalibrators to three of the five Rift Beacons located around Castle Doom in the northeastern corner of the island.

  • Stage 5: I defeated Doombot at Castle Doom. This was the hardest part; with other players also trying to take him down, I made sure to enter with full shields and strong weapons.

  • Stage 6: I retreated and talked to Hope at Sandy Steppes.

There was also an optional quest to eliminate five enemy players wearing the Doctor Doom skin. That extra 5K XP was tempting, but I only attempted it after I had already finished the main stages.

Looking back in 2026, this storyline still stands out to me because it forced me to visit parts of the island I normally ignored. It also made me wonder: do these weekly chapters still hit the same way now that the game has moved on? I can’t say for sure, but for a regular player, the Gwenpool errands, the evidence hunt, and that final Doombot fight made Chapter 5 Season 4 feel like an actual event rather than just another grind.
