Where to Find Megalo Don

Like The Machinist, you can't just pin Megalo Don to one simple location. He's constantly moving in a posse of cars and goons, rolling around a random spot on the map. Just before you drop, his location gets revealed on the map—look for a red and white skull symbol. I found him around the Grand Glacier region during my run, but he'll likely be somewhere different in your match. RNG is RNG, after all.

Prep Work: Don't Go in Half-Baked

Before you challenge Megalo Don, make sure you're prepared. First, I recommend squadding up with friends and family. Otherwise, it's going to be a challenge. I was lucky enough to play solo and take him down, but it would be far easier with friends. Second, try to drop in a location that has weapons and a nearby vehicle. Pick up a longer-range weapon like an assault rifle or a sniper. You want to poke at him from distance, not kiss his Nitro Fists. 😅

Once you're kitted out, get into a vehicle and drive to the skull symbol. When you arrive, you'll notice two vehicles. One is a reused battle bus with two mounted weapons on top. The other is a smaller car, and that's where Megalo Don lurks. The first enemies to eliminate are the people on the mounted weapons. They can cause so much damage. Use a long-range weapon to get an advantage on these foes, then focus on the smaller car. You might even want to get on a mounted weapon yourself and cause significant damage to Megalo Don's ride.

How to Beat Megalo Don

Once the shields fade from the car, the foe will pop out and begin to charge at you. He'll be using the powerful Nitro Fists. Shoot at him with an assault rifle or shotgun to counter the boss. Try to keep your distance as the Nitro Fists are deadly upfront. If you have a Boogie Bomb, it's extremely effective at causing Megalo Don to stop attacking but also getting his minions off the turrets. Dance, you goons! 🕺💥

After you eliminate Megalo Don, he'll drop some awesome loot. He'll have Legendary Nitro Fists that truly give you an advantage. Additionally, he has a legendary shotgun that deals a surprising amount of damage at a longer range. But that's not all! He also drops a medallion. When equipped, it gives you unlimited Nitro.

Rewards and Quest XP

Defeating Megalo Don isn't just about the loot piñata moment. In addition, if you drive any of their vehicles, you'll get an additional 15K points. That's a hefty chunk of XP, especially if you're grinding out the battle pass or just want to flex your level. 🏆

Pro Tips for 2026 Loopers

  • Squad up if you can. Solo is doable—I did it—but it's a white-knuckle ride. A duo or squad makes the fight way less sweaty.

  • Keep your distance. Nitro Fists are nasty up close. ARs, snipers, and shotguns at mid-range are your best friends.

  • Boogie Bombs are clutch. They stop Megalo Don's charge and get his goons off the turrets. Always worth carrying.

  • Deal with turrets first. Those mounted weapons can melt your health bar before you even see the boss.

  • Use vehicles for mobility. You'll need one to reach him, and you might need one to escape third parties after the fight.

  • Watch for third parties. Boss fights are loud. Someone will hear the chaos and come looking for free loot.

  • Don't get greedy. Grab the loot, heal up, and rotate. The medallion is great, but not if you get rekt while celebrating.
