White blood cell
A type of blood cell. A single cell made of bone marrow, spleen, and lymph nodes that floats in the blood and has a nucleus. It transforms into an amoeba, passes through the walls of capillaries, and moves in and out to eat foreign substances in the tissue.
The functions of white blood cells include the detoxification of bacteria and foreign substances that have entered the body, and the acquisition of an immune system by the function of lymphocytes. Neutrophils have the strongest effect of detoxifying bacteria and foreign substances, followed by monocytes (and macrophages), eosinophils, lymphocytes, and basophils. Therefore, when infected with bacteria or viruses, the number of white blood cells in serum and urine increases. This is also the reason why a blood test is first used to check for white blood cell counts and abnormalities when you get sick.
